WINNER!
Dear friends, it is with great joy that I share with you an international award that I have just received, the BORN DIGITAL WINE AWARDS (BDWA).
Thus I become the first Lusophone and first Latin American to receive such recognition.
Created in 2011, BDWA is the only international contest that awards online wine content in multiple languages. The event, sponsored by Vinventions (www.vinventions.com) and Coravin (www.coravin.com), encourages content quality, best practices, ethics, moderate consumption, social and environmental responsibility and innovation.
"This was our biggest, best and most challenging edition, when it comes to choosing the finalists and the winners," said Richard Siddle, chairman of the jury. There were 370 entries in six languages, with 56 finalists from 13 countries. Among the contestants and judges are big names in the world of wine, Masters of Wine, editors of major magazines etc, which makes me even prouder.
The categories and the winners were:
- Best Editorial - Meg Houston Maker (USA)
- Best Wine Turism story - Ilkka Siren (FIN)
- Best Food & Wine story - Alice Feiring (USA)
- Best Interview - Montly Waldin (ITA)
- Best visual story (photos / videos) - Ryan Moore (USA)
- Special Prize "Innovation" - Roberto Joseph (UK)
- Special Prize "Sustainability" - MARCELO COPELLO (BRA)
I received this award for an article I wrote about sustainability, which was very successful when it was published:

The prize comes with a check in euros that will be entirely spent on wines and diapers. Also invited to go to Belgium to attend a congress, the "Born Digital Wine Awards & Vinventions summit on Truthfulness and the future of Wine Communication".
